FIELD TRIP INFORMATION

FIELD TRIP ACTIVITIES
Field Trip Activities Include: The Dig, Educational Hayride, Hay Play & Jump barn, Marshmallow Roasting (Fall & Christmas only), Triple Decker Tree House with slides, Swings, Jumping Pillow, Balancing Labyrinth, Wooden Maze, 100 ft Super Chute Slide, Little Farmer Acres, Latvian group swing, Up & Over hedge maze, In & Out hedge maze, Farm Animals. Remember, this is a hands on experience on a real working farm!
Available activities will depend on the time of year your group visits. Additionally, we are not open to the general public during field trips, so not all activities will be accessible.

FOOD & DRINK
School groups are encouraged to bring their own sack lunches for a picnic in our open-air barn or picnic pavilion. You’re also welcome to bring blankets and have a picnic out on the farm! We will have The Plate open with a limited menu of sandwiches, chips and drinks available for purchase.

UPON ARRIVAL
Students will unload from buses, enter the farm and wait as a group, while the lead teacher will head to the Depot to pay for the entire group of students and chaperones with a school check or cash. At this time, all signed waivers will be turned in and wristbands distributed to the teacher for each paid chaperone/parent. Each class, along with teachers and parents, will then head to orientation for a brief review of Mainstay policies and reminders for a safe and fun visit. At the conclusion of orientation, classes are released to start learning and enjoying the farm!
ATTENTION TEACHERS
Please download the field trip release forms. Print as many as you need for your students. A waiver must be signed by the parents of all children attending the field trip. Click here for an English release form and here for a Spanish version! Contact us here with any questions!

HELPFUL TIPS
-
Dress appropriately, and remember to be mindful of the weather. Socks and close-toed shoes are always strongly recommended. Socks are required to play on the Jumping Pillow.
-
Consolidate lunches in labeled boxes and/or wheeled coolers. All lunches will be stored inside the gate where you may retrieve them at the time of your scheduled lunch.
-
In the event of cancellation, contact Mainstay Farm a minimum of 10 business days prior to your scheduled event. If you fail to cancel 10 days prior, you agree to pay in full for your event.
-
Because we are a farm in a rural location, we do not have adequate trash service to accommodate for our large field trip crowds. To avoid attracting critters, we require that you take your trash to your school dumpsters. We will provide trash bags for your use. Please appoint one parent per class in advance to help you with this task.
