DOG POLICY: Yes, we are dog friendly.
RULE #1: All dogs must be on a leash with leash-in-hand at all times. Our goal is to have zero incidents. Because all dogs – no matter how nice – can bite, and all dogs – meeting another dog – can fight.
RULE #2. If you bring your dog, you agree to pick up after your dog with a plastic poop baggie. There are thousands of happy feet on our farm each week, and somebody WILL STEP IN IT, we guarantee it. So you’re welcome to bring your pup, if you agree to pick it up!
|SATURDAYS||10am- 5:30pm December 3 & 10 (last day of the year)|
|SUNDAYS||1pm - 5:30pm December 4|
Mainstay Farm Christmas trees are individually priced in the Big Barn starting at $50. Trees in the field are pre-tagged and priced according to size and grade. If a tree is not tagged in our field, DO NOT CUT IT. We purposefully do not tag/sell all trees because we must hold some back to become taller trees for next year. Saws are provided in the field. Tree baling is free and twine for tying your tree on your car or truck is provided.
Payment choices are Mastercard, Visa, American Express, checks and cash.

Each January we replant Leyland Cypress and Arizona Cypress. Mainstay has 6,000 trees under irrigation. Six years are needed to grow a full-size tree that is seven- to eight-foot tall. Our trees are grown on eight-foot rows and seven-foot spacing. The width is needed to mow up and down the rows. The trees are sheared twice each year to enhance their shape.
We use a computer-controlled drip irrigation system with miles of poly tubing. Water is purchased from Bethesda Water Coop. We water during the night to limit evaporation.
Named for Mainstay Farm's donkey-mascot "Buggy," our paved race track is home to race fans old and young.
